The A.M.I. laboratories have developed new plant complexes which are ideal to formulate all your products which have an oily phase (emulsions, serum emulsions, care oils, etc.).
They are obtained by macerating several plants in Sunflower seed oil. The selected plants have specific cosmetic properties and act in synergy, claiming targeted and optimised efficacy for the beauty of skin and hair.
The Alban Muller Group has signed the Charter for an eco-responsible Cosmetic Valley next 16th October in Rambouillet, in the presence of Gérard Larcher, President of the Senate, and the French State Secretary for Ecology.
The charter stands 4 points: the environment (energy, waste, transport, etc.), product offer (safety, eco-toxicity, bioaccumulation, etc.), the philosophy of continued progress, and social relations (fair trade, developing human resources, sponsorship, etc.). By signing the charter, the Cosmetic Valley companies undertake to ensure the quality and safety of their products and services, respecting man and our planet.

A.M.I. launches its ‘New Generation’ Plant Encyclopedia,
the Unique Database on Plants for Professionals
in the Beauty, Health, and Well-Being Sectors
www.encyclopedia-ami.com
For each plant, you will find:
And for each plant part:
Among our 29 new Phytamis®: vitamin-rich references in the ‘super fruits’ trend: Fig, Strawberry, Sour Cherry, Mango, Acerola, Blackcurrant, Bilberry, Assai, Winter Cherry, Red Bayberry, etc.
They are energising and toning thanks to their Vitamin C content, and antioxidant and protecting thanks to their richness in polyphenols. These ‘super fruits’ are true beauty treasures for stressed, tired, and mature skin. Our Phytamis® range is now rich with 124 references!
A.M.I. has developed new eco-designed,
label claim, plant complexes
Botamix® complexes have been designed as easy-to-formulate ingredients and are particularly ideal for your care products: each reference is the combination of 3 plants with synergetic and/or complementary properties, carefully selected by our laboratories for targeted and optimised cosmetic action.
Botamix® eco-designed plant extracts for label claim products are the optimum and convenient solutions for your formulations; only 1 control test and 1 file are necessary rather than 3 when developing your product.
A.M.I. is launching a new range of exclusive plant extracts, Botamix blends, with the first reference: Botamix Antioxidant.
Botamix complexes contain three natural extracts - Botamicals® - brought together to offer targeted cosmetic action. Their plant-origin glycerin support, eco-clean design, and absence of preservatives, make them ideal active principles for cosmetics of the Future.
Botamix Antioxidant, the first reference in the range, is made up of Botamicals® Ginkgo Biloba, Green Mate and Red Vine, and offers the ideal reinforced antioxidant action for protection and anti-ageing care.
The other references in the A.M.I. Botamix range, each with a particular, targeted, cosmetic action, are forecast to be launched in April.
By blending three different plant extracts in a one and only active, Botamixes mean there is a single control test and only one file rather than three for product development, a considerable asset in the current regulatory context.
The Alban Muller Laboratories have designed an exclusive new active which performs in a unique way to replenish the dermis by optimising its metabolism.

The experience of Alban Muller International in the United States started more than 20 years ago through the exclusive distribution channel of Tri-K Industries.
This market gave a new development to A.M.I. Indeed, North America, and especially the United States, is by far the continent which counts the highest number of multinationals. The sales of our raw materials to the U.S. cosmetic industry has given us access to all kind of prestigious accounts, big or small. We thus became a first rank partner with recognised experience and a natural ingredients expertise.
The quality of A.M.I. products and services, either for ingredients or natural formulation, and the dynamism of Tri-K Industries, has led us to new opportunities among the greatest names of the U.S. cosmetic industry.
These successes have been reached partly thanks to our standard offer, for example our Slimming Phytoamine Biocomplexe®, our exfoliating ingredient Diatami, Amigel® for its great emulsion stability properties, or HPS3® and its unique anti-ageing activity.
At the same time, our R&D Laboratory has greatly contributed to this success. Its work, based on services, guidance, advice, expertise and flexibility has opened a new path. The partnership and support between A.M.I. and its customers gave birth to various exclusive products with strong characteristics: anti-ageing, moisturising, firming, using the values of local or exotic botanicals, etc.
Certificates and other documents getting more and more important, we also insist on the precision and quality of our technical data.
Following this philosophy, key part of our sales and marketing spirit, we have decided to take a new step today. A greater reactivity is essential. Technical files coming along the referencing of our products are more numerous. Today, a closer relationship with our customers is necessary.
Henceforth we will work with a new exclusive distribution partner, entirely dedicated to our products and services, and above all to our U.S. customers. The prospecting, the distributing and all their components will now be ensured by A.M.I. U.S.A. This new company adopted our name to guarantee a real continuity with our teams in France.
From April 2007 to March 2008, visit the Cité des Sciences Museum in Paris and see the Madagascan orchids - ambassadors of Madagascan Biodiversity.
The exhibition is, in a way, the story of how the orchids were saved. It aims to turn a highly threatened species of Madagascan Orchids into a plant-resource for the cosmetics industry, to guarantee its production and thus its preservation.
The Alban Muller Group is indeed studying the possibility of establishing a partnership with local producers to guarantee supply, in order to develop and provide a new Orchid extract, with an extraordinary story.
The exhibition thus presents an excellent example of highlighting Biodiversity in a perspective of sustainable development and Fair Trade. A fabulous adventure for our Group, in perfect harmony with our Natural Product Designer® philosophy.

New tests have been carried out on Amigel®, our stabilising and gelling biotechnological agent, with remarkable suspending properties.
Test 1: we have studied the case of a simple emulsion containing 16% oily phase and 1% of a classic emulsifier: the latter provides rapid dephasing. Adding 1.2% Amigel® to this formula stabilises it perfectly. In addition, with this dose of Amigel®, the formula remains stable even without an emulsifier.
Test 2: concerning the suspensions, we have compared Amigel® gels and xanthan gum, a reference in the matters, at comparable viscosity levels, containing glitter for one and Scrubamis® for the other (A.M.I. scrubbing powders). Amigel® proved to be far more efficient than xanthan gum. Indeed the suspensions are stable with Amigel® as soon as the viscosity reaches 300 centipoises (cps) for the glitter and 600cps for Scrubamis®, whereas for xanthan gum it takes a viscosity level of 2,100cps to reach stability.
Amigel® truly guarantees stable formulas!
> Find all the details on these two new tests as well as all the qualities of Amigel® in our new documentation, available upon request.

A.M.I. has developed Seborami®,
a new specific and exclusive active ingredient which helps cope with the anaesthetic drawbacks of oily skin, while respecting
its natural resistance.
Incorporated in skin care formulas, it gently
treats the different aspects of the problem.
Seborami® contains:

Ten new Lipidamis® have been launched:
Anise, Fig, Great Burdock, Guarana, Milk Thistle, Pomegranate, Oregano, Pistachio, Sweet Green Pepper and White Tea.
Without preservative and protected by a natural antioxidant, Lipidamis® are obtained by the maceration of plants in refined Sunflower oil. They are biodegradable and
made with renewable resources.
A cosmetic base formulated with these naturally active-rich ingredients is thus no longer a mere carrier but becomes the source of an essential comfortable feeling on the skin.
Silicami is a very pure silica powder used in exfoliating cosmetic products.
Silicami is available in three granulometries. Its mechanical action accelerates the process of natural elimination of dead epidermis cells and brings new softness and shine.
Silicami can be used in exfoliating body and face care products (thick lotions and gels) as well as mildly abrasive toothpaste to optimise the brushing action.
Environmental impact control is a major concern for the Alban Muller Group, which has integrated an environmental dimension for several years now to its activity. Because promises are not enough, our production site located in the Cosmetic Valley has been ISO 14001:1996-compliant for the past two years. This compliance requires drastic control over environmental impacts, effective prevention against pollution (water, air, ground) and the choice of the most respectful technologies.
Today, our position is asserting itself and we are preparing for the ISO 14001:2004 compliance. It is an evolution of the ISO 14001:1996 compliance, much more demanding in terms of awareness and more in coherence with the ISO 9001:2000 compliance, with which the Alban Muller Group has been compliant for the past three years.
These procedures are vital for us, and our compliance is your guarantee.
100% natural extracts, preservative-free and stabilised in plant-derived glycerin, Phytamis® have been launched to answer an increasing suspicion towards synthetic products in general and preservatives in particular.
The Phytamis® offer is broadening to allow for the creation of new natural cosmetic products as efficient as ever: Apricot, Black Tea, Bladderwrack, Condurango, Corn, German Chamomile, Hops, Horsetail, Kiwi, Mallow, Mountain Arnica, Noni, Peppermint, Red Vine, Saint John's Wort, Shea, Soapwort, Sunflower, Witch Hazel, and Pollen enrich our Phytami® range which offers 40 references today.
Natamilks® are vegetable milks containing the water-soluble and oil-soluble principles of a plant in a single fluid emulsion. Stabilised with a natural polysaccharide and a natural co-emulsifier, and formulated without parabens, Natamilks® are top-of-the-line ingredients for natural cosmetics.
Joining Aloe Vera, Bamboo, Black Locust (Acacia), Chestnut, Green Tea, Iris, Peach and Shea Natamilks®, five new references were born to expand the family: Apricot, Cotton, Honey, Noni and Red Clover.
In January 2004, we launched the Lipidamis® range, born from the ashes of our old LS extracts (oil-soluble extracts). Resulting from the maceration of plants in sunflower
oil, Lipidamis® are preservative free and protected from oxidation by a natural antioxidant. They are biodegradable and manufactured with renewable resources,
thus allowing to develop environment-friendly products.
Today we offer you about thirty new references. Fruits, vegetables, spices, teas… more than a hundred Lipidamis® are now at your disposal to help you formulate natural and
ethical products.

takes part in the decisions for updating plants registered at the pharmacopoeia and their monographies, on a National and European level.
Mr. Jean-Marc Seigneuret also teaches at the European University for Pharmacy Research in Châtenay-Malabry (Master in Cosmetics), at the Science Unit of the University
of Chartres (Bachelor of Science), at the Beauvais Higher Institute of Agriculture, and at the University of Marseille.
Today, French Prime Minister, Dominique de Villepin, made public the list of the 67 sites selected in France to be labelled “Competitivity Pole“. Through its project "Sciences of the Beauty and Well-being" carried by the Perfumery and Cosmetic Industries, the Cosmetic Valley has been selected and labelled.
For about ten years, the Cosmetic Valley has been representing the image of luxury, perfumery and cosmetics "Made in France" all over the world. This notoriety is founded on many know-hows, from the culture of aromatic plants and plants extraction to formulation, packaging, perfumery, etc.
The Alban Muller Group takes part in this dynamics through its production site located in Fontenay-sur-Eure in the Cosmetic Valley. Its President, Alban Muller, elected President of the Cosmetic Valley last week, met French Minister Renaud Dutreil today, and is very satisfied with this certification, true recognition of a whole net of competences which contributes to make France the uncontested leader and expert of the sector.
A concentration of skills and know-how in the fields of cosmetics and perfumery, the Cosmetic Valley was created in 1994 in the Eure-et-Loir Department, France (Chartres Region). Last Thursday, it has officially enlarged to three other Departments -Loiret, Yvelines and Eure- creating a major professional area for the cosmetic and perfumery industries. Some important political personalities had made a point of attending this meeting and of giving their support to this initiative.
This reinforcement happens within the framework of the nomination of the Competitivity Poles initiated by the French Government which will announce the final selection on 12th July.
With the occasion of this main change in their statutes, the Members of the Cosmetic Valley have elected their new Council, and afterwards their new President in the person of Alban Muller.
A Graduate of ESCP, Alban Muller carried out all his career in the Beauty and Well-being industries. Founder and President of the eponymous group specialist in natural raw materials intended for cosmetic, food and phytotherapic professionals for more than 25 years, he has built his main production site in the heart of the Cosmetic Valley.
He has also initiated the Herboretum Association, domiciled in a beautiful property where the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Cosmetic Valley took place yesterday. Located in Saint-Ay in the Loiret Department, right in the geographical centre of the Cosmetic Valley, the Herboretum expects to become "the garden of the gardens": it gathers a collection of gardens, and gardens of collections, and constitutes a place of exchanges, meetings and teaching -by the means of its School- unique in France.
Alban Muller wishes to contribute to amplify the movement initiated by the reliable initial team of the Cosmetic Valley which succeeded in creating a dynamism filled with enthusiasm. In his new missions, he will be backed up by three vice-presidents: Nicolas Doutriaux (LVMH-Guerlain), Daniel Guillermin (Shiseido) and Gerald Guillaumet (University of Orleans) and will be supported by a solid Board of Directors.
Thierry Breton, French Minister for the Economy and Finances, visited Alban Muller production plant of Fontenay-sur-Eure, Loire Valley, on Friday 29th April.
His programme included the visit of two major companies of the "Cosmetic Valley": Guerlain and one of the two manufacturing sites of the Alban Muller Group. Then the Minister went in a delegation to the Chamber of Commerce to discuss with local authorities. The latters made the most of this official meeting to consolidate their candidature for the French Poles of Competitiveness.
A.M.I. now offers twelve dried extracts specially adapted to the use in phytotherapy products:
All these extracts are titrated in active principles and some conforms with the French Pharmacopoeia.
Fats used in cosmetics must remain stable all along the lifespan of the finished products, whatever conditions they are submitted to. This is why oxidation reactions must be efficiently stopped by the means of antioxidants. The most currently used antioxidants in cosmetics are either synthetic like BHA (butylhydroxyanisol) or BHT (butylhydroxytoluene), or of natural origin such as tocopherols or ascorbic acid. Amiox belongs to the second category. Amiox is a Rosemary oleoresin in a Sunflower seed oil base, miscible in oils and oily phases. Its activity is based on the properties of Rosemary.
With Amiox, you can safely formulate oily products such as massage oils or body-care oils. They will be protected from oxidation in the bright light of bathrooms or beauty institutes. It is a valuable ingredient to formulate this kind of finished cosmetics, such as lip balms or make-up products (stick cheek blushers and foundations, eye pencils, dark rings removers…).
