The Alban Muller Group has specialised in Research and Development of plant-origin active principles and formulating natural products for more than 30 years, offering its know-how and expertise to the industries of beauty and health.
Alban Muller has designed an entirely unique, global, eco-responsible approach by choosing to take part, in France, in each step of creation of a natural product, from the seed to the finished product: from selecting the seed and the plant culture, to formulating products, from raw materials to turn-key cosmetics.
The Alban Muller Group inspires itself from advanced research in the field of sciences of life, and is present in the whole world. It is one of the innovative medium-sized companies working in the shadow of large companies, which contribute to the international fame of French industries thanks to their dynamics, in particular in the world of cosmetics.
Today, while the flood of products claiming the ‘natural’ label can often be confusing, Alban Muller, President of the Cosmetic Valley, offers a true code of deontology revolving around 'green intelligence', and intends to actively contribute to the international influence of the made-in-France label. Alban Muller has for instance taken part in the elaboration of the Charter for an Eco-Responsible Cosmetic Valley, the signing parties of which are professionals of the field committing to guaranteeing the quality and safety of their products and services with methods respecting Man and the planet.
As the work carried out beforehand guarantees the result, and as the quality of extracts begins with the quality of plants, the Alban Muller Group has chosen to rely on the know-how of French farmers. Their cultivating techniques follow the EMEA’s principles of Good Agricultural and Collecting Practices for Starting Materials of Herbal Origin (2006). Plants are controlled after harvesting (identification, content in active principles and contaminants) and delivered with a complete analysis certificate.
The Alban Muller Group handles some 300 plants and more than 40% of its current production comes from French cultures. Medicinal plant cultures have thus been set up in the heart of the Beauce region, a territory known for the quality of its farming products, located close to our factory, where fields of angelica, coneflower, Saint John’s wort, and coriander grow alongside vast wheat fields.
Alban Muller offers both ingredients and formulated products for cosmetics and pytotherapy, high-tech actives with tested efficacy bringing together natural extracts, plant complexes, and biotechnological actives. They include: Padinami®, made with brown alga collected in the Mediterranean, which offers a surprising youth treatment, while the marine active Protectami® acts as a skin-protecting shield by opening the ‘calcium way’. Amiporine® is made with pomegranate and is an efficient anti-ageing moisturiser, as it restores the water flow in the skin.
Alban Muller specialises in plant extraction, and more specifically in eco-designing, he has developed several unique ranges of water or oil-soluble, preservative-free, eco-designed extracts made with plant-based solvents, and low-energy, environment-friendly processes, etc.
As product quality is the cornerstone of its organisation, the Alban Muller Group has chosen to entirely master its manufacturing thanks to its two industrial sites in France, one in Montreuil, a Paris suburb, and the other at the heart of the Cosmetic Valley Competitivity Pole, in Fontenay-sur-Eure, near Chartres.
Macerating, filtering, percolating, concentrating, all these procedures are strictly monitored and are in line with the protocol established by an internal analysis lab, while control labs on each site guarantee conformity with specifications and Quality follow-up.
The Alban Muller Group strives to permanently improve extraction processes, and has set up innovative tools such as drying by zeodration, an alternative system to traditional methods. This new, low-temperature dehydrating technique fully preserves the active principles, even the most thermo-sensitive ones, while saving energy. Zeodration is eco-clean and is perfectly in line with Alban Muller’s aim of guaranteeing the quality of extracts and using Nature-friendly methods.
